About Greg

Gregory Clinton Foster (born October 3, 1968, in Oakland, CA) spent 13 seasons as one of the NBA's most versatile and dependable reserve big men. Standing 6'11", Foster brought energy, defensive intensity, and locker-room leadership to every franchise he joined — from Washington to Utah to Los Angeles.

His crowning moment came in 2001 when he earned an NBA Championship ring with the Los Angeles Lakers, a team that went wire-to-wire as one of the dominant forces in the league. Foster had previously reached the Finals twice with the Utah Jazz during their back-to-back championship runs in 1997 and 1998.

After hanging up his sneakers, Foster moved naturally into coaching and broadcasting, bringing his wealth of experience to the next generation. As Chairman of the Membership Services Committee, he applies that same leadership to advocating for former players across every era of professional basketball.
